Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Default Heroes LLC, a Michigan game development company, handles personal information when you use the Heroes of Hold'em mobile app, visit defaultheroes.com, or contact us.
The mobile app is in development. The app-related sections describe the information handled when you use the relevant account, gameplay, purchase, and diagnostic features. Simply visiting this website does not create a game account.
Information We Collect
- Account information: the email address and username you provide when creating or using an account.
- Game information: your in-game progress, saved data, and gameplay activity needed to provide the game.
- Purchase history: purchase and transaction information provided through the Apple App Store or Google Play, such as purchased items, receipts, transaction identifiers, and purchase status. Payments are processed by the store; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- Device and diagnostic information: device or app installation identifiers, device model, operating system, app version, crash reports, and usage analytics generated when you use the app.
- Messages: your email address and the information you choose to include when contacting us.
- Website requests: our hosting provider may process your IP address, browser information, requested pages, and request times to deliver and protect the website. This website does not use cookies, tracking scripts, or embedded third-party analytics.
How We Use It
We use information to operate accounts, save and restore game progress, deliver and verify purchases, respond to support requests, diagnose crashes, understand how game features are used, improve performance, and protect the game and website against fraud and abuse. We also use information when necessary to meet legal obligations.
We share information with service providers only as needed to perform these tasks, or when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect users and our services.
Third-Party Services
- Apple: distributes the iOS app and processes App Store purchases. Apple handles information under its Privacy Policy.
- Google: distributes the Android app and processes Google Play purchases. Google handles information under its Privacy Policy.
- Steam: distributes the PC version of Heroes of Hold'em and handles Steam accounts, platform activity, and purchases under the Steam Privacy Policy Agreement. Visiting this website does not automatically share your game account information with Steam.
- Cloudflare: provides website hosting and security and may process website request information as described above. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
App crash and usage analytics are used for reliability and product improvement. Any service provider processing this information on our behalf must protect it and use it only to provide the service. External platforms process information under their own policies when you use them.
Data Retention
We keep account information and game progress while needed to provide your account and the game. We retain purchase records as needed to verify purchases, handle disputes, and meet accounting or legal obligations. We keep support messages and diagnostic information only as long as needed to resolve issues, maintain security, and improve the service.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove information that identifies you. If you request deletion, we delete personal information that we no longer need to retain. Limited records may remain where required by law or necessary for fraud prevention or resolving a dispute; backup copies are removed through the normal backup cycle. Apple, Google, and Steam manage their own records and retention practices.
Children
Our website and Heroes of Hold'em are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact admin@defaultheroes.com so we can investigate and delete it.
Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing admin@defaultheroes.com. Include your username or account email so we can locate the information. Do not send your password or full payment card details. We may ask for reasonable verification to protect your account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a copy of your data, restrict or object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. We respond in accordance with applicable law. You may also contact your local data protection authority. Deleting game data may prevent us from restoring your progress; deleting our records does not itself delete your Apple, Google, or Steam account.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services and information practices change. We will publish the updated policy on this page and change the effective date. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
